The Muppets’ latest viral video features Big Mean Carl singing “Stand by Me” while he cleverly devours a bunch of bunnies. Gold.

Before the days of DVDs, I had a couple VHS compilation tapes of skits from the Muppet Show, and this was always one of my favorite songs. I thought of it the other day when I was chopping onions, and I had to look it up.

Jerry Nelson, who you might know as the characters Floyd, The Count, and Gobo Fraggle, has released an album of original music, and it’s pretty awesome.

It’s definitely not classic Muppets, but Disney is getting a little better grasp on these characters. If you can’t get enough Muppets around the holidays, you can pick this up on DVD today.

In this list I give you my picks for the 10 greatest puppet TV shows of the 90s. I wanted to focus on the 90s because including the 80s would make the choices a little obvious, with classics like the Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, and ALF.

It’s a tragedy that none of the Beatles ever appeared on the Muppet Show, but luckily there are still many skits that feature the Muppets performing Beatles covers. They’re all here, and you’re welcome.

Niche illustration blogs seem to be a huge upcoming trend, and that’s fine with me. I’m jealous of anyone that can draw cool stuff, just ask my friend John. So, why not check out some pop culture icons zombified?
