About Saturday Morning Central
Saturday Morning Central is a blog by me, Tommy; a virtual treasure trove of nostalgic goodies, and my excuse to watch cartoons and play with toys.
Saturday Morning Central’s main areas of expertise are:
- Cartoons: Animated Features, classic animated shorts, and television animation from the 50s to the 90s/2000s. Can’t say I’m terribly familiar with anything thats on TV now, mainly because the things I mentioned above are not on anymore. (Yay for home video)
- Toys: Awesome toys such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, LEGO, action figures based on movies, action figures that were the basis for TV shows, fast food/cereal premiums, and other academia.
- Games: This includes video games and the board games. Even though I’ve been horrible at video games since I can remember, nothing says nostalgia like the sights and sounds of a 8-bit or 16-bit game, and board games are a fun way to remember that once you actually had to sit around a table with people to compete against them. No monthly subscriptions or funny avatars necessary.
- Stuff: I lost sleep over the naming of this elusive final category, but finally decided that “stuff” was the best description. On Saturday Morning Central, Stuff is books, fads and trends, food, trapper keepers, slap bracelets, etc.
About Tommy
I never grew up in the traditional sense. Sure, I got larger, older, a little smarter, married, and so on, but I still never technically grew up. Instead I became a Web Designer, subconciously so I could someday blog about cartoons and toys and get away with it. I live in Indianapolis, USA, and love it here.
